ISP Channel
A subsidiary of SoftNet Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFN), ISP Channel offers cable modem service in partnership with smaller cable companies.
More than 35 cable TV operators covering 3 million homes have signed on as ISP Channel affiliates. They have launched the service in more than 50 communities, and today, the ISP Channel counts more than 7,000 subscribers.
Among ISP Channel's affiliates: Advanced Cable Commmunications; Buenavision Cable TV; Cable Co-op of Palo Alto; Coast Cablevision; Galaxy Cablevision; Horizon Cable TV; Matrix Cablevision; Mediacom; Media General Cable of Fredericksburg; Orion Cablesystems; San Bruno Municipal Cable; Sun Country Cable; and TelePonce.
ISP Channel service costs from $29 to $39 a month. The cable modem rental fee runs another $10 to $13. Free access to a local content service called ISP Channel Neighborhood is included.
