I am using Cox cables roadrunner and I am allowed to have 3 comps on the cable modem but one is a lap top and it "floats" around the house so we have multiple plug ins around the house therefor requirering more than one hub. The network works on both hubs but internet only works on the hub that is hooked up to the cable modem. I talked to road runner and they said that they "couldn't" help me due to the fact they can't "work" on networks but they suggested me to post a message. Firstly, it's unclear to me why you need two hubs. We have two laptops, and have put jacks all over the house. All of the jacks go into one hub. The laptops will work anywhere. You can connect two hubs together, but make sure you're using the appropriate "Crossover" cable between the two hubs, or using the "uplink " port if one exists. You should get a "LINK" light on both hubs. If you don't get a link light, they're not connected together correctly. I occasionally pop in a second hub downstairs when friends come over and there aren't enough taps. It works like a charm.

PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jacks all over the house!!!!!!!!!! MUCH easier (and cheaper) just to buy a wireless hub!

Yeah, I mean, jeez! I have a wireless hub for my wireless hub! That means I can keep my laptop with me if I have to go to the grocery store or do some yardwork! COME ON! What in God's name do you need all of that crap for? What do you people do for a living? What in the hell do you need to carry a laptop around for, all of the time? You take a laptop to a friend's house? What the hell happened to taking a six-pack to a friend's house? You are so motivationally insecure that you MUST carry a freakin' laptop with you, everywhere? I am the IS person where I work and I don't carry one! I find it absurd that I have to carry a damn pager and sometimes a palm pilot! GET A LIFE! Oh, dang, my friend just gave me a tip for Diablo II!! Oooooh. I can't wait until I get home, sure wish I had my laptop! Oh, the agony!!
