My computers are set up to recieve signal from my cable modem through my D-Link router just fine. If your link-sys router has a builtin firewall and DHCP capability then yuo are set to go. Your Link-sys router will have a gateway IP address that your documentation should inform you about how to find. You need to put that number into your TCP/IP gateway settings on your windows operating systems. If you are still having trouble email me and I will help you further.

Have you networked your computers together? If so check to see if the computers can share resources. If the other computer isn't showing up in your workgroup computers you might be using the wrong type of cable! they have two kinds patch and crossover, you want to use the patch cable, the wrong type of cable will prevent you from being able to network them if this is the case either get a patch cable or another short crossover cable depending on what is eisier. You might want to also check to see if your router is set up to be a gateway. If not you want to set it up as a gateway. I hope this helps
