"cable modem dl files slow??"
When I download files, the transfer rate is only like 28kbps? Other people i talk to say theirs is around 100kbps. Why is mine so slow? I have windows XP on a newer gateway computer. 80GB hard drive 256memory...whats my problem?

are all of your downloads that slow? First try downloading from some big sites, i.e. netscape, microsoft, etc. If they are still slow call your cable company because there is definately a problem with your connection.

In fact 28kbps is slower than a 56k modem unless you mean 28KBps either way it is slow for a cable modem as I get about 300KBps/sec.
