"Getting Service..."
Well, in the area where I live, Cable Internet is only available in the subdivision in which I reside, so it's not available outside of the subdivision anywhere else in the city.

I've been trying to get AT&T Broadband Internet for over a year now, and I keep getting the same responses over and over on how it isn't available in my area at all, when a neighbor a street away has it(including other people/friends/family I know that have it that live less than 2 miles away). I've been on the phone, e-mail, live chats, writing, and anything else I could think of with them, and nothing.. THE SAME STUFF OVER AND OVER. I'm sick and tired of 56k/dialup connections, but thats beside the point; I want high speed net)

My friend said that when he first ordered it about a year and a half ago, he was unable to get it as well. So what he did was call them back, and give them their neighbors address and then they ordered it, then they hung up, called back and said that he gave them the wrong address. So they fixed the problem and everyone went on with their life and he still has AT&T Broadband Internet to this day.

So my question, well actually two, 1) Does or did anyone else have this problem?, and 2) Does anyone have any suggestions at all on what I can do about this stupid situation?

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Ask to speak to a supervisor, tell them that your neighbors have cable, etc. Ever think that maybe your house can't get it (2 miles away is pretty far)?

If all else fails and you can't get cable or dsl you might want to look into something like high speed satellite directtv dsl.

call the city, each cable co. has a franchise with the city. Find out how the franchise (contract) with the city reads regarding HSD serivces.
