"packet loss"
I've been playing online multiplayer games for a while and just a week a go or something I noticed tremendous packet loss in and out of the server I was playing on. Is it my cable modem or the server I am playing on?

1. "RE: packet loss"
Whenever you're experiencing high packet loss, try pinging some other sites. (Public sites, like yahoo.com or whatever.) If you get high packet loss across the board, then it's your connection....if you get good response everywhere else, then it's most likely the server you're on. (If you're getting packet loss on the other sites too, try pinging your default gateway. If you get good response there, then the packet loss is probably happening somewhere at the headend or with your ISP.)
