I have a motorola surfboard 4100 from charter. I signed up for the 256 d/l speed, with 64 up. I am getting about 450 d/l, and 100 up without touching it. I used all the reg settings i could possibly find.(i think). I would like to get to 1mbs if possible, if not no biggie. Can someone help me?

I think I would be happy with that. I just got the same service amd my download speed is 7k. In other words it's only 1 kb faster than my at&t dailup service.

7K!?!?!??!?!?!?!? Call up the cable company and quit. That is the biggest joke I have ever heard. I top out at 300KB/sec down and 75KB/sec up and I am only paying $25 a month.

Calling your cable company would be good, but not to quit. Call them to fix it. Obviously if you have cable modem sevice, it's the best you can have. So if it's not working like it should, have it fixed. That's what tech support and technical staff is for. Good luck. I'm sure they will find the problem.
