cable modem tested at 42 out of possible 150......why is it so slow??? any ideas on how to increase speed? Modem is a terayon tj715

try and get a speed test on your ISP's servers. They will be the most accurate as to what your real speeds are. The other tests are ok sometimes but will fluctuate a lot. Most ISPs have a speed test somewhere, call tech support and see if they have an address. For Example http://www.kc.rr.com/speedtest/rrspeed.htm That is mine, 2480.9375Kbps ....2.5Mbits/sec. That is what I get between my modem and their network, my actual speed at the moment, any server beyond that is out of my ISP's control. Mike

Ya thats pretty slow...Ive had my modem for a year now and I never got under then 400 on the test
