"Adelphia cable service?"

Adelphia SUCKS!!!!!!! I have it too

I was getting downloads at approximaatly 10-12 kbps and then my network card crashed. In trying to set up my USB port Win98 had a major probelm and I had to retore my system to how it came using the retore disk that came with the computer. After adding the new network card and reconnecting, I was getting downloads around 60-100 kbps. After that I went through the speed tweaks for Win98 on this site and now I can download at up to 400 kpbs and the bandwidth test on cnet.com consistantly comes back at 500-800.

yo get on windows xp people not windows 98 just try downloading it illegal and that really boots up your computer now don't install it if you have a slow computer or don't have the requirments in order to use windows xp.

Adelphia cable is driving me crazy. Maybe my slow AOL dial-up at 28K wasn't so bad after all. What can I do to improve upload I have now at 86K and downloads at 228K?

Well i live in Colorado, I get 2MB Download speeds and 15kb up... but i am running WinXP Pro and i'm using tweaks such as registry and other crap. but thats what ima getten now.

I have had my cable modem for a month now. I test speed frequently and my upload vary between
115k to 215k. I feel this is more than adequate.
I do have a few manual tweaks installed. I love my service.

Some of the peeps that don't like the service probably are not implementing their tweaks, if any, correctly. And before you ask "Why Tweak?", Windoze OSes just don't fill in the values with anything except a "default" value. The link below seems to not work to show you some of the speeds that are capable. Something to do with this forum. But anyway, if you read the first, 3030815=3030Kbps downstream and then the 425531=425Kbps upstream. Also, you could copy and paste the link in a new browser and it will take you to the results page

i've suffered with a bad cable adelphia bought
from a govt sponsored minority experiment. its taken 2 years, but now the system is up 95% of the time. i upload around 145 and download around 3500!!!! the latter number quadrupled when i got a mot surfboard 5100 modem ($59)
every adelphia network is different, they have some of the best and some of the worst. by the way, none of the speed tweaks ever helped me significantly

Hey, we got Adelphia a while ago, and for a while, it was super fast... but I was trying to download the Java 1.4.2 SDK (about 45MB) and it keeps locking up... and the speed has went down a lot. Does keeping it on all day (I mean, not turning it off during the night) affect anything? Anyway, I'm a COMPLETE n00b at all of this because I had only had 56k all my life, before, and I really know nothing about this. Should I try the Win98 tweaks on here? Thanks. I just got off phone with adelphia here in LA. Upload cap is at 256kbs or 512 for premier service. Download is not an issue.

I have great service with adelphia in Southern Ca. My upload speeds are always above 250k and download is over 3mbps.

make sure your modem is off of the first 2 way split and youll be fine, if not its your junk equipment, adelphia code 528!

also upload speeds are capped, file sharing is against the TOS, so im sorry your pr0n server isnt uploading fast enuff.
