"Sometimes it's the network card"
If u have a guy install a network card that he got from his company throw it away!!!!!!!. I had a nic card that cox installed that was only 10mbps not 10/100. my connection max was about 60kb/sec. o got an aopen 10/100 card about a year later lol (i got it like a week ago) and my connection speeds are about 1.5 mbps it's truly amazing that cox can't spend an extra 3 bucks on a 10/100 card but if you got 1 from the cable company give it right back to them

Your card was at fault, not the speed of it. 10baseT card runs at highest 10mbs which is much higher then your internet connection.

check out www.dslreports.com online tweaks it will really pin point your problem.

thats a rather borad statment, i am a cable installer and we use 10/100 Kingston cards and they work fine, and by the way the 10base t card will still outflow what ever speeds your cable provider is sending to you .... i agree that a 10/100 card is the way to go.
