"Speed questions???"
When i do a bandwidth test at 2wire.com i get only 360kbits/sec. I tried some other sites and i get around 1000kbits/sec. However i notice when i download aol6.0 from aol.com i download between 260-280KBYTES/sec sustained throughout the 29mb file. Multiply that by 8 and it comes out to about 2100 or 2200 kbits/sec. Then when i download elsewhere or on napster i typically find around 125kbytes/sec but sometimes it spikes higher. It just seems like i have the potential to get speeds more often above 200kbytes. I don't have any tweaks installed. I have optimum online on long island and use a terayon modem. I am running windows 98 second edition. any recomendations?? And why is my speed so slow when i watch movies or test my bandwidth and 2wire.com?

Well i have to reply to myself because i found out the answer. I went to dslreports.com and, did the online tweek tester and found i needed to download the rwin registry mod. When I tested my speed before on that site i got 800kbit/sec. after i got over 3500kbit/sec!!! Over 300% improvement. This bandwidth results holds true on all other sites i've tested too! (except for 2wire.com which still shows about 350kbit/sec. Also i tested this site on three other comps and got the same result which leads me to believe something is up with the site.) Now when i try to download aol6.0 it goes at almost 500kbytes/sec. Recommend this update to all. Did it to my friends' computers also with same results even when the tweak tester didnt say it was needed.
