what service speeds are available in usa by cable modem? do cable modems have a service speed of 64kbps?

Osman- Cable modems have theoretical speeds of over 1.5MB/sec, which is over 25 times faster than a 56K modem. In relaity, speeds are arounf 1MB/sec, which is still much faster than 56K or 64K. As a cable modem subscriber, I would not go back to slow dial-up ever again! KDD
