"Need for Slower Speed" |
I know this is kind of awkward, I need to lower my Cable Modem connection speed in order to emulate a 56k dial up connection, I have been changing parameters on the registry with no success. Any thoughts ?

Try setting your NIC to full duplex. It will probably slow you waaaay down, sometimes to sub-56K speeds. Sounds funny, I know, and I don't claim to be an authority on it, but I'm pretty sure cable modems are designed for half-duplex communication, and when the NIC is working full duplex, everything is thrown out of whack. (I'm assuming this is the result of collisions and retransmissions, but this is just a guess.)

change the TTL and RTWIN in your registry, set them real low that should do it, or manualy set the conection speed of your NIC to 28k
