On the Q&A it says "If you already have a telephone fax modem, you can still use it to send and receive faxes after installing a cable modem." I am assuming that it means thru a phone line. But is it possible to fax thru the cable modem without having a phone line?

yes but now all of the fax services are pay per use. phone line is the best free (minus the long distance cost) of faxing. Mike
