"blue screen of death"
Ive had my Dell for 1 year and nerver had a problem until I had my cable co. come out and intall their webstar cable modem. Ever since I consistently get a blue error screen stating that their is a compatability problem with the new driver they set up. We tried with the ethernet card , that didn't work . Now its set up through a usb port. I'm running windows xp home version...It shuts down right in the middle of surfing or just sitting on the desktop...any suggstions would be greatful...seriously thinking about going back to aol...did I just say that........

Try harder with your ethernet card.

Seriously though, it is obviously due to the usb driver and usb has a history of being very unstable. I would suggest buying a new NIC or trying again to reconfigure the one in your computer.
