"Cable outage"
After 2 years with RoadRunner I suddenly couldn't get online. Customer Support said there were no outages so they'd have to dispatch a technician. The tech replaces the modem, amp, cable and then declares I have to rewire the cable throughout the house. At that point he closes the trouble ticket and leaves. He doesn't explain how the cable that was installed 2 years ago has gone bad and can't explain why running the cable directly to the modem still I can't log on. My neighbors with RR are experiencing the same problem and "solution" and the same result. The TVs work but not RR. After a week I've noticed that late evening\early morning I can get online but during the day nothing. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I would call back RR and hope you get another tech. If it is your neighborhood that has been effected and not just you there is no reason why they should have to rewire your house to get it working again.

At the very least they should give you and explanation as to what happened and why the house needs to be rewired.

Call them back and complain and try to get another tech sent out. Also let them know that your neighbor is experiencing the same problem and have them call as well.
