This is my setup: 2 PC's one with Win 98, one with Win XP using USR 8000 Router and cable modem. Unable to get connected to internet via router with Win98 machine and unable to ping router. Have changed cables with no luck. Unable to see XP machine on network. Unable to connect to internet direct via cable modem. 'looking for proxy' message rec'd and have deselected option in internet options. * * *** XP machine connects to internet via cable modem direct but not via router. ISP is able to ping router and XP machine NOT Win98 machine. Help help help. I wish I was back in the days of my XT....
