"Optimum Online and Linksys" |
Has anyone had success getting a Linksys 4 port router working with Optimum Online (NY/NJ area?) The problem is the router is not picking up the IP address from the Wave runner cable modem, so I don't get internet access. The set up on the LAN side seems fine. It works great without the router. After many hours on the phone with Linksys, they are sending me another router to try. (Optimum tech support won't help...) Questions: Hhas anyone had success getting this to work, if so, how? Where there any unique configurations? If I have to start over, what other brand hub/router should I buy?

>buy? If you follow the directions in the detailed instruction book, you should have no problem accomplishing what you want to do. I have linked three computers and one optimum online cable modem through the besr41 4 port router, so I know it is possible. Are you allowing your computers to "obtain an ip address automatically" during setup?
