it never use to do this and now its does. i play an online game and i can notice locking up about ever 5 min for like 5 seconds. i asked other poeple that play and they said there fine and dont lock up. any suggestions?

its most likely packet loss and not a modem problem. download a traceroute program to ping your favorite UT servers and youll see if there are any network problems between you and the game server.

Dude.. Just telling you first.. I have the same problem as well.. I know what your talking about.. its not packet loss its a drop in the connection... you still recieve but you stop sending.. sux in games ... Its not your cable modem... its not your computer nor the software you use.. its got to be the line between you and where you connect to your closes node.. I have no clue how to track this but this is the only thing I can figure it is.. GL I know I don't stand a chance.

Ok, I just dealt with this yesterday so listen up guyz. Its your splitters, that split the cable for your tv and your Road Runner. If you remove the splitters from your RR and cable and hook just the RR up it should work. If not check inside your walls for Splitters. If that still don't work have your RR service come out and make sure the cable box outside has a DC splitter, this separates the signals from you cable tv and your RR so that there's no interferance.
