"tv and cable modem" |
Is there a way to get cable tv off of a cable modem without ordering cable service? If so, how? Please email me rather than posting, or do both.

A guy asked you if it was possible to get cable TV from just your cable modem connection without subscribing to cable TV. You replied:>yep. the just apply a filter >to your signal. its really >easy. I'm really interersted in cutting down my monthly costs and their basic TV cable service fee keeps getting increased...and is kind of useless to boot - only a few local channels. Would you mind sharing the secret?

The company here requires that if you get a cable modem from them that you also subcribe to cable service. They do this because here its very easy to get cable TV from the very same cable running to your modem... In not believing this, when I first got my service I unscrewed the cable going to my TV and the one going to the cable modem... I then hooked the one that WAS going to the cable modem to the TV and the one that WAS on the TV to the cable modem, and both still worked just fine. I'm really not sure how this works technically, but I'd give it a try. Good luck!
