"Why did my download slow down?"
Hello,

I got Optimum Online about 2 weeks ago.

When I first installed it, I was getting download speeds of about 80 KB/sec.

Then I did the registry tweaks and I started downloading things at over 400 KB/sec! It was great! I went to download DirectX 8.0 and it downloaded at over 600 KB/sec!

BUT......

Now my downloads seem to have slowed down to how they were before I tweaked my registry.

It reminds me of when I first had cable TV hooked up. For a couple hours every pay channel was coming in, then finally they shut off all of them except the ones I payed for.

Does the cable company have a way of limiting how fast you can download something?

Thank you!

I have windows 98 SE
