"DOES REGY TWEAKS REALLY WORK?"

Some said they did the registry tweaks and worked out well..

and.. some other said they did the regy tweaks, but even turned out worse...

I'm getting AT&T cable modem this week, and I'm not decided yet whether do the regy tweaks or not..

ANY COMMENTS?? SUGGESTIONS?? would be apprieciated.

well i have @home now the i tried all the tweaks but nothing worked,the only thing i changed was in windows when you press cntrl-alt-del your "running"in background list pops up i say that some "tgcmd" program was running this is the proxy server settings they seem to slow everything down so i went into startup settings and disable loading the prog.this increased the speed by X2 wow is said and i turned off the proxy settings in my browsers..hope this long message helps...

HOW DO I TURN OFF THE PROXY SETTINGS IN MY BROWSER BECAUSE I CANT FIND IT, PLZ HELP

Goto www.dslreports.com and under tools there is a online tweak tester. run it and it will tell you what tweak is needed and it has the tweaks so you can download them and run them. About the only tweak that helps at all is the RWIN size. It needs to be set to either 32k or 64k. Mine worked best with 32K. When i set it to 64k, I started to get packet losses. you will just need to experiment to see what works best with yuour system. BTW when I tweaked mine I did not see a huge jump in performance but it did make a difference Good Luck
