"Who Makes The Best and Fastest Cable Modem??" |
I am currently renting my cable modem, its a older 3Com modem. Can someone tell me who make the best and fastest cable modem today?? Or is there a site that has reviewed various brands of cable modems?? Thanks!!

Fastest has nothing to do with anything since it is your ISP that regulates your speed.I have a Motorola SB4100 and it is great. Lots of people have them and I haven't heard of any complaints. I was just at circuit city today and they are selling them for $129. Just as a side note I pulled this off the spec sheet for the SB4100 "Maximum download rate is 38 Mbps. Maximum upload rate is 10 Mbps." LOL, don't think any ISP is going to let those speeds pass. LOL Mike

Actually the two fastest Cable Modems I heard are the Toshiba one and the Terayon one, I think the Terayon is better. They both have top download speeds of 40Mbps. The Toshiba one you could get at COMPUSA or order it. The Terayon Cable Modem family is not for retail though, you have to check your Cable ISP to see if they supply them.

Yeah i am renting a tobisha pcx-2000 right now and its great pretty fast. they all work fine usally i just think maybe some of the older ones like a few years old may be bad. ANd yeah my isp limits me 128kbps upload and 1,5mbps download that sukcs forme
