"dsl AND cable :)"
I currently have a 144k SDSL connection from which I run a few servers on Linux and firewall/masquerade a home office LAN. Since the telco and ISPs in my area are lame and won't set up the hardware to increase that connection speed, I ordered AT&T cable. I want to run both connections so I can continue to run my servers (since cable is dynamic IP), but I want to take advantage of the 1.5m/384k bandwidth on cable. I'm guessing I can continue to receive packets to my static IP over the SDSL conx and route packets back over the cable conx, using it as a gateway, including masqueraded packets from the firewalled LAN.

Have any of you done something similar or have any opinions on this?

Winter-

I know of a similar set up that has been done. I am on a mailing list and it came up a while back and was accomplished successfully. Don't know if it was the exact same as you were trying but you might look through the archives http://kulua.org/Archives/ I deleted the email but it was a few months ago.

Why not just pay a little extra for a static IP address from AT&T cable and drop the 144k SDSL. Probably much cheaper than having them both and your speeds will be much faster with cable.

just my .02 cents

Mike

Mike - Thanks for the reply. I will check out that archive you posted. And I would like to do it all through cable, but they're telling me I can't get a static IP.
