"Cable Modem w/Firewall"
I am considering purchasing a cable modem. I have heard that there is such a thing as a modem with a built in firewall. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Also, can anyone give a recommendation for a cable modem around $130 and below? I am currently looking at the Motorola SurfBoard 4100, the Lynksys BEFCMU10, and the 3Com Office Connect 3CR29210 (Which by the way is $50 right now @ techdepot.com) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I haven't heard of a cable modem with a built in firewall but I wouldn't be surprised if they exist. I would recommend the SB4100. Have one myself and have heard lots of good things about them. Never had a problem with mine. Circuit City was selling them for $129 a few weeks ago. Also check pricewatch.com or pricescan.com for comparison prices. Mike

Ken- You would only be able to get cable through your cable company. Call them to see how much it is. Mike
