"Bad Connections"
This is the worst week of connection problems I have ever experienced in the 8+ years I have have been connected. Road Runner claims it's outside of their control. I don't believe it. After repeatedly losing my connection to Gamespy, I went to check my Road Runner email account. Couldn't connect. Tried to just get on the internet, also, couldn't connect. At $45.00 per month, you'd think the service would be alot better than that. I think they've oversold their resources and now everyone is suffering while Road Runner is cashing in. My neighbors are having the same problem. Maxed out hub?? If DSL was at least semi competitive speed-wise, I'd be on Ameritech and not Time Warner Road Runner.

I have to agree. I wish dsl was offering the same speeds and I would jump back to it. I am still waiting for the 1.5-6.0mb dsl line to come down in price $179/mo is a joke. Dsl also needs to increase the upload speeds from the archaic 128kb to something more reasonable.

I had a few problems with RR although things have seemingly corrected themselves or they finally did something for a change. Guess I can't complain too much because I am still downloading at 300KB/sec+ or just around 2.4mbit/sec.

Well Im not sure about your set up but I did tech support for awhile and I can tell you this most of the problems people had when the called in was problems on there end They dont want to hear that but thats the way it is We had tools that let us see siganl to noise ratios Rec level Transmit level and if the customer was online and pulling and ip and could release and renew ip then this is there problem Cable Co are access providers not computer repair companies Now most problems were People had routers and hubs and didnt know that from time to time you have to power cycle them in a certain order for them to work properly and others would download Kazaa or other programs that corrupt certain system files needed for connection but my favorite is the firewalls Geez These would block all ports and sometimes make the customer have to format just to get the connection back Most of the time you could just replace wsock files and would correct problem But people would call in daily and never even try and determine if the problem is on there side just start blaming us for the problem Im mean didnt even try to do ping test or nothing Lot of problems with usb and ethernet cards but nobody believes there cards can go bad Well enough rambling but I had to quit tech support Got tired of dealing with idiots who dont have a clue about how to operate a computer but want high speed internet and think it should be perfect and never mess up hmmmmmmm Well not sure what your problem is cause you really didnt explain your set up there in detail But hope you get it resolved and if it turns out to be on your side Think about how you just jump the gun.

wow, talk about a run-on sentence.

I do agree that most of the end users don't have a clue as to what they are doing, but I just hate to be treated like a fool when I know more than most of the idiots working tech support.

You do not want Ameritech either- we have had the same problem with them- for two weeks in a row, our dsl was out Thursday and Friday. Can't run a business like that!!
