"USB 2.0 vs. Ethernet"
I'm switching to a cable modem and I my pc doesn't have an ethernet card. I do have usb ports, and I'm considering upgrading to USB 2.0 to increase my transfer speed with a Zip 750. Since I'm already going to do this, is there any reason to add an ethernet card as well? Will the USB 2.0 be faster? Any suggestions are appreciated.

if you can spare the extra cash ($5-20) I would suggest adding an ethernet card.

USB is unstable and many times the drivers trip out systems. You will also see fluctuations if you are using more than one usb device at a time...i.e. your zip disk. Ethernet is 100% reliable and you will probably never have any problems related to it. That is my suggestion although several people are happy using usb.

USB will use much more of your system resources than a NIC overal stability will be better and faster go with a Nic.
