"Help needed anout home networking"
I have @home cable modem. I bought 2 IP addresses, and connected them through a hub. I can use Internet from both PC's, but my problem is with file sharing.
I enabled file sharing, installed NetBEUI, put a binding for file sharing on NetBEUI on both PCs. I shared both hard drives. I can see my desktop from my laptop, and reach the files. But from the desktop, in my network neighborhood, I can't see my laptop. When I use Find Computer, I can find my Laptop but cannot open it.

I have Windows 98 SE in both PC's. They have the same subnet masks. All network info except IP address and Computer name are the same. and yes, they are in the same domain.

I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,

Emre

I think your best bet is to use a Proxy Server with a firewall. The you can have your home network behind the firewall, share disks and printers without worry, and be able to use the Internet from both. Mark

Do you have file sharing/print sharing installed?
You need it!
