"2 computers on same IP address?"
I read a message on this same subject but everyone had a different opinion. I have my PC on a traditional cable modem. I want to be able to surf on my laptop around the house. There was talk of routers, switches, & second modems. I want to keep my ISP bill the same in exchange for higher startup costs. I also don't understand when the 2 have to be networked or not. So what is the best plan? And keep in mind I want to do this myself and I have somewhat limited knowledge of networking.

2 computers can not have the same IP address, I suggest that you get a wireless router and configure it. Computer does not allow 2 same IP address by default.
