"Windows 98 se"
My cable modem works fine when I use Windows 98. When I upgraded to Windows 98 Second Edition my cable modem stopped working. I had to uninstall
SE it to get it working again. Is there a way to get a cable modem working under win98 SE?

The problem you may be having is that because of the win98se ip config, it changes your assigned ip to a invalid address. If you plan on re-installing win98se install a file off of the win98se cd called ipac_off.inf (this can be done by right clicking on the file and choosing install) it should work. You may have to reset the modem after you do this.
